Badlands was a band founded by former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Jake E. Lee and former BlackSabbath members Ray Gillen and Eric Singer. Badlands also featured bassist Greg Chaisson. After the first Badlands album, Eric Singer was replaced by Jeff Martin. The group lasted from 1988 to 1993 and released two albums, Badlands (1989) and Voodoo Highway (1991) before Gillen left and was replaced by singer John West from New York. Ray's death in 1993 effectively ended any hopes of re-uniting the project. The album Dusk (a demo recorded in 1992 - 1993) was posthumously released in 1998.
Freak of Nature was an American hard rock band, formed in 1992 by former White Lion lead singer Mike Tramp. The band was formed after White Lion broke up and the follow up was significantly darker and harder than White Lion. The band released three albums and then disbanded in 1996. Following Freak of Nature, Mike Tramp released several solo albums and also reformed White Lion with a new line up.

Nitro is an American heavy metal band from Hollywood, California. The group was formed in 1987 by vocalist Jim Gillette, guitarist Michael Angelo Batio, bassist T. J. Racer and drummer Bobby Rock. This lineup recorded the band's debut album O.F.R., which was released by Rampage Records, a sub-division of Rhino Entertainment, in 1989. Rock was later replaced by K. C. Comet (and subsequently Johnny Thunder), while Racer was replaced by Ralph Carter. Nitro released a second album, Nitro II: H.W.D.W.S., in 1991, before breaking up two years later.
