Drain were an American noise rock band formed in Austin, Texas by King Coffey (drummer for Butthole Surfers) in 1992. The group also included David McCreath on guitar and bassist Owen McMahon. Along with the psychedelic leanings of Coffey's other band the Butthole Surfers, Drain also ventures into electronic and techno music territory. Also, samplers and drum machines play a stronger role in the music.

A Dave Grohl short living project. David Eric Grohl (born January 14, 1969) is an American rock singer-songwriter, guitarist, drummer, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, and film director. He is the former drummer of the grunge band Nirvana and the frontman and founder of the rock band Foo Fighters, of which he is the lead vocalist, rhythm and lead guitarist, and primary songwriter. Grohl is the drummer and co-founder of the rock supergroup Them Crooked Vultures. He additionally wrote all the music and performed all the instruments for his short-lived side projects Late! and Probot. He has been involved with the rock band Queens of the Stone Age many times throughout the past decade. He has performed as a session drummer for a variety of musicians, including Paul McCartney, Garbage, Killing Joke, Kristeen Young, Nine Inch Nails, David Bowie, The Prodigy, Slash, Iggy Pop, Juliette and the Licks, Tenacious D, RDGLDGRN, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Lemmy, Stevie Nicks, Zac Brown Band, and Ghost.

Mother Love Bone was an American rock band that formed in Seattle, Washington in 1987. The band was active from 1987 to 1990. Frontman Andrew Wood's personality and compositions helped to catapult the group to the top of the burgeoning late 1980s/early 1990s Seattle music scene. Wood died only days before the scheduled release of the band's debut album, Apple, thus ending the group's hopes of success. The album was finally released a few months later.

Gary B.B. Coleman (January 1, 1947 – February 14, 1994) was an American soul blues guitarist, singer, songwriter and record producer. Originally a local musician turned blues promoter and session musician, Coleman recorded his debut album in 1986, which was re-released by Ichiban Records. He issued several other albums and produced most of Ichiban's blues catalogue until his death, in 1994. On many occasions, Coleman undertook multi-instrumentalist duties in the recording studio. He acknowledged both B.B. King, with his "B.B." moniker, and a fellow Texan, Freddie King.

Through the 1930s and 1940s he successfully navigated a transition in style to a more urban blues sound popular with working-class African-American audiences. In the 1950s a return to his traditional folk-blues roots made him one of the leading figures of the emerging American folk music revival and an international star. His long and varied career marks him as one of the key figures in the development of blues music in the 20th century.

Some of his records were released under the pseudonyms Sluefoot Joe and Barefoot Bill from Alabama, whose identity has only recently been verified by historians. His best-remembered recording is "Mamlish Blues".

Oscar "Buddy" Woods (born c. 1900–1903, died December 14, 1955) was an American Texas blues guitarist, singer and songwriter. Woods, who was an early blues pioneer in lap steel, slide guitar playing, recorded thirty-five tracks between 1930 and 1940. He recorded solo and as part of a duo, the Shreveport Home Wreckers, and with a six- or seven-piece group, the Wampus Cats. Early in his career he backed Jimmie Davis on some of his recordings. Woods's best known song was "Lone Wolf Blues", from which came his billing as 'The Lone Wolf'.
