A.S.A.P. was a band created by guitarist and vocalist Adrian Smith of Iron Maiden fame. They released an album in 1989 entitled Silver and Gold. A.S.A.P. stands for "Adrian Smith and Project", and the full name of the band is incorporated within the band logo, with each word written in tiny font underneath the corresponding letter in the abbreviation.

The Awful Truth were a progressive metal band from the late 1980s based in Houston, Texas, United States.
They were a three piece consisting of bassist Monty Colvin, drummer Alan Doss and guitarist David Von Ohlerking. They only released one album, the eponymously titled The Awful Truth. After the band split, Colvin and Doss formed Galactic Cowboys.

The Purple Helmets was a side project, playing 60's Garage and R&B tunes. In the line-up was: J.J. Burnel, Dave Greenfield, (both from The Stranglers) John Ellis (then from The Vibrators, later in The Stranglers), Alex Gifford (a member of The Stranglers horn-section) and Manny Elias (drummer with Tears for Fears). The band was ostensibly put together so that JJ and Dave could do some gigging between Stranglers projects.
